Outstanding design pays homage to East Perth’s industrial past.

Simple, clean lines and a mix of materials including glass, steel and brickwork, combine together in the arresting façade of the Urbano apartments. The feature panels of face brickwork are typical of the old warehouse structures in the area, while metal louvre screens and expansive use of glass provide a contemporary contrast in texture and colour.

But looks aren’t everything; these clever design aspects also make for a building, which takes advantage of solar passive principles.

In keeping with the sense of place and culture already established in East Perth, a portion of overall building costs is designated to public artworks. Urbano incorporates an elegant water-feature at the ground level of the complex.
